Why Choose This Programme?
This qualification builds the critical step between analysis and execution by teaching learners how futures contracts are specified, priced and margined before they are used in hedging or speculative trading.
It focuses on the mechanics first: contract specification, spot-futures pricing, basis, margin and the operational realities of running a leveraged position.
Learners then apply the concepts in a written scenario report that constructs a hedge, calculates margin requirement and justifies the decision using disciplined risk management.
Core Aim & Reflex
The layer between analysis and execution.
Practitioner-designed by the centre’s Head Educator with direct experience trading futures across LIFFE, CBOT and CME.
Accredited by OCN London as a bespoke qualification, with a defined credit value, level and external quality assurance.
Covers futures contracts, pricing, margin, basis and hedging in a structured and applied way.
Includes a written applied strategy report that assesses how a hedge and its margin requirement are constructed and justified.
